HELP - Table of Contents


Introduction

This site is set up in a manner that allows club members to update the bridge website themselves, - no significant technical skill required. Any authorized club member (one who has been given the club password) can update club scores or add announcements to the site. For instance:
  • Enter the game schedule for the upcoming months. The website will just display the next four events. As an event passes, the it will automatically be removed from the site.
  • Upload results of games played
  • Post information and announcements to club members:
    • Awards achieved   --   New Members
    • New Regulations   --   Bridge Etiquette tips
    • Upcoming Tournaments and other items of interest

HOW TO Add a New Event
  1. Go to the bottom of the Home page and click on Updates. Enter the password.
  2. Click on the Events icon.
  3. Change the date - click on the calendar icon and pick the date you want.
  4. Enter the Title of the Event:  e.g. Club Championship and click the Add Event button.
  5. You should see --- Event added successfully.
  6. If you want to supply additional information about the game (maybe you get extra points in this game) Enter the additional description in the box a few lines below the "Title" Box. Entering additional description will make the item stand out as a clickable so members will know there is additional information and can click on the event to see it.
  7. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Logout when you are finished with your update session.

HOW TO Delete An Event

  1. Go to the bottom of the Home page and click on Updates. Enter the password.
  2. Click on the Events icon.
  3. Scroll Down To The Event You Would Like To Delete and Click on the Delete Icon Delete.
  4. You should see --- Event deleted.
  5. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Logout when you are finished with your update session.

HOW TO Update An Existing Event

  1. Go to the bottom of the Home page and click on Updates. Enter the password.
  2. Click on the Events icon.
  3. Scroll Down To The Event You Would Like To Edit and Click on the Edit Icon Edit.
  4. Change the date - click on the calendar icon and pick the date you want.
  5. Change the Title of the Event:  e.g. Club Championship and click the Confirm Change button.
  6. You should see --- Event added successfully.
  7. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Logout when you are finished with your update session.

HOW TO Update An Announcement

  1. Go to the bottom of the Home page and click on Updates. Enter the password.
  2. Click on the Announcements icon. You will be taken to an "Edit Announcement" page that has an "Edit Box".
  3. The box contains the current announcement(s). If it is empty, enter the new announcement. Some tips:
    • Note that holding down the Ctrl key while pressing Enter will start a new line without skipping lines.
    • Above the Edit Box are many edit icons - bold, italic, color, underline, etc.. Move your cursor over any of these icons and text will appear defining the icon funtion
    • Editing this Announcement should be similar to editing in Microsoft Word
  4. When you have finished, click On the Confirm Change Button (or if you make a mistake, click on Undo Change).
  5. You should see --- Page saved.
  6. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Logout when you are finished with your update session.

HOW TO Delete An Announcement

  1. Go to the bottom of the Home page and click on Updates. Enter the password.
  2. Click on the Announcements icon.
  3. Edit the Announcement Text, deleting the part you no longer want. 
  4. Click On the Confirm Change Button (or if you make a mistake, click on Undo Change).
  5. You should see --- Page saved.
  6. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Logout when you are finished with your update session.

How To Add an Image (picture/pdf file, etc)

  1. Go to the bottom of the Home page and click on Updates. Enter the password.
  2. Click on the Images icon. You will be taken to an "Upload Images and Files" page.
  3. Click the Browse button and locate the image you want to move to the website. Now click On the Upload Image button.
  4. You should see a message that says:  the image has been uploaded.
  5. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Logout when you are finished with your update session.

HOW TO Delete An Image

  1. Go to the bottom of the Home page and click on Updates. Enter the password.
  2. Click on the Images icon.
  3. Page down until you see the image you want to remove, . 
  4. Click On the delete symbol by that image.
  5. You should see --- Image Deleted.
  6. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Logout when you are finished with your update session.

How To View Scores

  1. Click on View Scores on the left side of the home page.
  2. Click on the game you are interested in to view the scores.

How To Update Scores

  1. Click on Update Scores on the left side of the home page. Then enter the password and click on the Login button
  2. Browse for the file(s) you want to upload, select it, Click the Open Button
  3. Click on the Upload button to load the scores file onto the website.
  4. The file will be added to the existing list of Scores files.
  5. Go to the bottom of the page and click on Logout when you are finished loading scores files.
